W. M. Wise Mine, Westmoreland, New Hampshire. Built from six short orbit videos instead of photographs. Turn it over: the 1967 collection labels are on the underside.
Scan info 360°
Full 360°, from video. The specimen sat on a turntable and was filmed in six slow orbits at 4K, 24 frames a second, the phone held upright: three upright (low, level and from above), then flipped for three more of the underside. From each video the sharpest frame in each of about 100 equal slices was kept, so there are no blurred frames and no large gaps between views. Each frame was cut out from the background, every frame was matched against its neighbours and across orbits to recover where the camera was, and the upright and flipped sessions were joined into one model before training. Detail is softer where the two halves meet and softer than the video itself.
